FAQ’s

What is a zip line?

The premise of zip lining is strapping yourself into a full body harness that is connected to a cable wire, then the force of gravity allows guests to zoom down the wire to a destination point some 100 to 500+ feet away.  You travel at speeds of over 20 miles per hour at times, with your feet dangling in the air.

Is it safe?

The entire complex has been engineered for safety and exceeds all industry construction, training, and safety standards.  Cables are overrated, holding up to 23,000 lbs.  We do not use a "hand braking" system, rather the zip lines are designed to deliver guests gently to their destination in a hands-free environment.

How much does it cost?

The Beanstalk Journey zip line adventure tour is $59 / person.

The Beanstalk Climbing Tower is $19 / person for one hour of climbing.

Group discounts and other specials are available, see Pricing Specials.

Do I need a reservation?

Can anyone go?

Zip line tours can be enjoyed by almost anyone.  Even if you are not into thrill seeking and excitement, you will probably have a fun time.  Our zip line tours do have certain weight and age restrictions so make sure to inquire about these when making your reservations or view The Journey Checklist.  There are so many things to do here in Catawba Meadows Park.  Bring the whole family, as spectators may walk along the path and watch Beanstalk guests while they climb nets, traverse sky bridges, and zip line overhead.  Also take advantage of the 4 mile scenic Catawba River Green Way trail for walking, biking, roller blading, or just checking out the river.  For the young ones, there is the Beanstalk Adventure Ropes Playground in addition to the 18 professional disc golf course and 2 regulation sand volley ball courts.

What should I wear?

When coming on our zip line tours you will be outfitted in a full body harness with shoulder straps, waist belt, and leg loops.  You should definitely wear comfortable pants or shorts coming to the knee or just above.  Short shorts are not recommended.  Footwear should consist of closed-toed shoes like sneakers or hiking boots.  Long hair should be tied back and if you wear glasses, we recommend having a strap on them to keep them secured.  All sharp objects should be removed from your pockets.
